Album:  The Color of Violence – Youthanize

Release Date: April 7, 2009 on Epitaph

When it even says in the press release that an album is best used as coaster, two scenarios will sift through your mind. Either the record is so bad; it’s good, like the Twilight movie and “I’m On a Boat” or it’s simply so bad, it’s horrible, like Brokencyde and High School Musical. Unfortunately for the Color of Violence, Youthanize fits in the latter category. Considered to pretty much be a side project courtesy of From First To Last’s Derek Bloom and Travis Richter, every single song sounds pretty much the same. Brutal screaming, rapid fire drumming and distorted guitars, very similar to what label mates Bring Me the Horizon are already doing makes it even more boring. The song titles are juvenile but amusing, however. “God Gave Me Deeze Nuts,” Me and My Enormous Spiritual Erection” and “Look! I Made It! I’m Dating an Actress” will leave you wonder what they were thinking. Plus “Crapandemic” pretty much sums up the theme of this record perfectly.

 Final  Verdict? 1/5
