As promised, here is the interview with Shane and Paul from Silverstein!

So, I got the amazing opportunity to head over to Rock on the Range last night! Despite horrific weather, it was a good time and the bands made it worthwhile for sure. For those not in the know, the festival booked one of the best tours of the summer (Rise Against, Rancid, Billy Talent) plus one of my favourite Canadian acts Silverstein so you can already guess it was a good time. There was a bunch of other bands too but I'm not going to go into detail about acts like Theory of a Deadman because let's face it, this is an alternative music site. This is the one place they AREN'T going to get much coverage. So yeah, check the review here if you like.

Anyway, I have to thank the people from Victory, Frontside, True North and Right Arm! Without them pointing me in the right direction, this coverage would not have happened so thank you!
Coming soon, very soon is an interview I did with Shane and Paul from Silverstein so check back! Also the Canadian Music Round-Up is here.

The Weight of the World tour rolled through Winnipeg on Thursday, featuring Sights & Sounds, Dead and Divine, Architects, Haste the Day and Misery Signals. Since Monolith came out on Tuesday, I sat down with Andrew from Sights & Sounds to discuss the new record and a whole bunch of other topics. Check it out here.

After going through 50 minutes of tape in addition to studying to my exams, the Taste of Chaos coverage is finally here! First up is an interview with Alan Day from Four Year Strong here. Next up is an interview with Geoff Rickly from Thursday here. And last but not least, here is a review of the show!

As always, here is this week's Canadian Music Round-Up too. Also, I hope to have some CD reviews up soon, some people have still submitted them and I haven't forgotten. And this Wednesday, school is done so I'll be free so it shouldn't be much longer.

Also, Taste of Chaos was yesterday! Not only will I have a review of the show but I also have interviews with Four Year Strong and Thursday! Since exams are this week and I've been swamped with school though, it's going to take a bit longer to have stuff up. I hope to have it up by Sunday at the absolute latest so check back then.
It's been a month but I've finally taken a break from school and did some reviews. The first is the latest from Thursday. Common Existence was released back in Febraury and you can read the review here. Next is the 7" split from The Wonder Years and All or Nothing. It was released last Tuesday and you can read the review here. Lastly, and also my favourite of the three, is the latest from New Found Glory! It was also released last Tuesday and you can read it here.

Lastly, the most recent Canadian Music Round-Up is here.

I'm late to post it here again but the most recent Canadian Music Round-Up is here.
I have a CD review to share! As I said, if people were still going to send them, I was going to review them and I've kept my word. Awhile back I recieved a disc by The Plurals and you can check out the review here.

Oh and since I haven't posted the most recent Canadian Music Round-Up yet, here is is.
Yet another interview, this time with Gob! More specifically Tom Thacker, the band's front man. Check it out here. I did a review of their set too, I just decided to combine the two this time around.

Finally a real update! The Alternative Star snagged it's first show review/interview of the year so that's always a good sign. Plus it was with non other than Anberlin!

I chatted with the band's drummer Nathan Young about many topics, included the supposed Best of Anberlin CD, their new record and what he does in his downtime. Check it out here.
Also I went to the show, my recount of the night is here. I got one of those tiny Nikon CoolPix cameras as a gift awhile back and I decided I'd like to actually learn how to use it because trust me, I'm a crappy photographer. They aren't much but they are still there.
By the way, yesterday's Canadian Music Round-Up is here. The one from last week is here too, sorry I didn't upload it sooner if you care.

Firstly, the site really isn't this empty! Since the Home page was getting very long, I decided to move all the updates from 2008 to a new section called the Updates Archive. You'll find every update since the site's creation in April there if you are interested for whatever reason.
Secondly, I finally finished my Best of 2008 list, I count down my favourite records as well as the best shows that hit up Winnipeg this past year so check it out. La Disupte, Panic At The Disco, The Gaslight Anthem, Protest the Hero and Motion City Soundtrack are just some of the bands that made the cut!
